Dale Jay Sanders was born on February 23, 1970, in the city of New Orleans, Louisiana. He is the sixth child to the union of Rev. & Mrs. Leroy Sanders, Sr. the family made their home in Kenner, Louisiana, where Pastor Sanders was reared as a boy. At the age of seven, Pastor Sanders confessed Christ and was baptized by his father at the Oriental Baptist Church in New Orleans. As God would have it, no more than five years later, at the age of twelve, he would make yet another confession- accepting the call to the gospel ministry. And as of April 16th, he has been preaching the gospel for more than 24 years without compromise.
On December 10, 1995, Pastor Sanders was called to be the pastor of the Fifth African Baptist Church. Under his leadership, the church has grown spiritually, financially and numerically. The vision that God has given him is far from complete, and he joyfully anticipates the journey that is before him. The scripture says, “eye hath not seen, nor hath ear heard what things God has in store for them that love him.” Pastor Sanders is married to the elegant and humble Kimberly Vallery Sanders and fathers their four children, Gerae´ Jasmine, Destiny Estean, Dale Jay II and Jericho Elisha.
In addition to maintaining a rigorous revival schedule throughout the country, he is also an anointed psalmist. He has served as Dean of the Ministers Conference of the National Missionary Baptist Convention of America, Inc. and Second Vice President of the New Orleans Baptist Ministers Union along with several other appointments.
Pastor Sanders also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Southern University at New Orleans.
There has never been any doubt that preaching is what this man of God has been called to do as he crissc rosses the nation ministering in revivals and conferences. However, as of late, the world is being introduced to the other side of this great preacher, “The Singing Side.” Enjoy!
